Release Note

Google TrueListings

Realease Notes
Google TrueListings
February 6, 2024

Summary

Clients now have the option of validating their Google public facing listing details against their Google Business Profile database to be absolutely certain that all listing content is correct.

Background

Google maintains two distinct data sets for all business locations. The first set is what is recorded in the Google Business Profile data set. This is made available to customers in their Google account and the API connections that power LocalClarity and all other listing management platforms. The second set is the data set that is presented to the public. Unfortunately, these data sets are rarely (if ever) in perfect sync, especially at enterprise scale.

The only way to be absolutely certain if any variances exist between what Google tells you is presented and what your potential customers see is to conduct a direct public audit and compare the details.

Details

The new listing option is presented in the LocalClarity platform as "Google Public". You will see it in the platform as a solid blue G in the local listings table.  You'll also see a little clock icon to the right. Hovering over the icon will present the date of the last TrueListing data extract.

The listings total presented on profile cards and other reporting will begin to include the count in the coming weeks. Email us at support@localclarity.com to have this new listing source added to your profiles.

What's Next

In the coming weeks we will be adding automatic comparisons to make it easier to see which locations have distinct variances between what Google says it's showing and what your clients actually see.
